Burn Ban Update – Fire Pits Now Permitted

Please be advised that the RM of Riding Mountain West has amended the current burn ban. Residents are now permitted to use backyard fire pits in accordance with By-law 2022-07 – Wildland Fire Prevention and Control By-law.
However, burning of fields remains strictly prohibited at this time.

To ensure everyone’s safety, please follow the specific guidelines for fire pits as outlined in By-law 2022-07. These include (but are not limited to):
Using a fire pit that is properly enclosed and supervised at all times
Ensuring it is located a safe distance from buildings, trees, and other combustible materials
Fully extinguishing the fire before leaving it unattended
